Clean windows are the calling card of every home. Unfortunately, achieving perfectly clean, streak-free windows can be a challenge. We have prepared for you several proven methods that will help you get shiny windows without unsightly streaks.
Choosing the right products.
• Microfiber: Microfiber cloths are great for cleaning windows because they are lint-free and absorb water well.
• Window washer: Professional window cleaners with a rubber strip are an excellent tool for removing excess water and dirt.
• Window cleaning spray: Choose a cleaning agent intended for cleaning windows or prepare your own solution (e.g. a mixture of water and vinegar). How to prepare it? Prepare the following ingredients and shake thoroughly: 1 cup of vinegar, 2 cups of water. Vinegar effectively dissolves dirt and grease and prevents streaks.
Washing Technique.
Pre-cleaning: If your windows are very dirty, wipe them with a dry cloth to remove excess dust and dirt before applying the solution.
Avoid direct sunlight: Clean windows on a cloudy day or when the sun is not directly shining on the windows to prevent the solution from drying too quickly and leaving streaks.
Thorough drying: After cleaning the windows, use a dry, lint-free cloth to polish the windows to ensure they are streak-free.
Collecting Excess: Use a window cleaner to remove excess water and dirt, starting at the top and working your way down. Remember to wipe the rubber strip of the washer after each stroke.
Drying and Polishing.
After cleaning the windows, use a dry microfiber cloth to thoroughly polish the window. Make sure all residual cleaning solution is removed to avoid streaks.
Cleaning Frames and Gaskets.
Don't forget to clean window frames and seals. Use a damp microfiber cloth and a gentle cleaning agent. Frequent cleaning of frames and seals will prevent dirt and mold from accumulating.
Regularity of Washing.
Regular window cleaning (at least twice a year) prevents the accumulation of dirt that is difficult to remove. The best time to clean windows is on a cloudy day because direct sunlight can cause the cleaning solution to dry quickly, which promotes streaks
We asked our colleagues from the finance department if they had any tips on how to clean windows at home and this is what they told us:
"I recommend washing with fabric softener. This prevents dust from accumulating on the windows.”
"I use Kärcher and wipe it off with a dry paper towel."
Clean windows not only mean a better view of the world, but also more natural light in your home. By using the above methods, you will easily achieve perfectly clean windows without streaks. Remember about the right tools, washing techniques and regularity, and your windows will be neat and clean all year round.
