When we think about heating rooms, the first thing we think about are standard methods - radiators, stoves or underfloor heating. However, there is a modern, clean, safe and, most importantly, extremely effective solution that is completely invisible. We are talking about the INFRATHERM system, thanks to which windows can become a source of heat.
How it's working? The entire mechanism is based on infrared, which heats the inner glass. Thanks to a special coating, heat is reflected into the room. Heating windows are powered by electricity, but the costs associated with their use are not as high as in the case of standard electric heating due to the low energy consumption. To put it into perspective, approximately 400 – 600 watts are enough to heat 10 m² of surface.
– Compared to other electrical systems, heating windows are the cheapest of them – emphasizes Mr. Wolfgang, who has been using heating windows for almost 6 years. – This is a very healthy method - heat is obtained in the same way as the sun heats the earth. The infrared light used is also used in medicine and sports.
Heating windows are also a safe solution for allergy sufferers. Due to the fact that the heat is emitted directly from the glass, there is no dust rising typical of e.g. floor systems. The heating process does not emit any substances or smoke. The heating coating is inaccessible from the outside, so there is no possibility of getting burned (the glass heats up to a temperature of approx. 60 °C).
Another important aspect is that the heating of rooms through this type of windows is even - the heat is distributed regularly over the entire surface, there is no significant difference depending on the height, and the effect of the cold wall or the windows themselves is eliminated.
– Use is very simple – in each room with heating windows there is a thermostat that can be used to regulate the temperature – Mr. Wolfgang explains further. – An additional advantage is the lack of fixed costs typical of other heating systems, e.g. the need to buy fuel, pay for servicing or chimney sweep services.
As we have already mentioned, whether windows have heating technology or not cannot be verified with the naked eye. The windows remain fully transparent. This system can be used in all Bertrand products, and its additional advantage is, among others: eliminating the phenomenon of water vapor condensation on the glass surface or snow formation in hard-to-reach places (using additional heating from the outside). Thanks to this, natural light can maximally illuminate the interior almost all year round.
